We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Vietnamese homestay. the staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help with any arrangements we needed, such as scooter rentals and organizing trips to Viet Hai Village or transport to the airport. It was convenient to have the option to have meals at the homestay, with simple but tasty food available. the breakfast selection was also quite good. the rooms were cozy and the garden was beautiful and well-maintained. we appreciated the option to pay by credit card, and the availability of cheap motorbike rentals.
We felt very welcomed throughout our stay and have no complaints at all.

I absolutely loved the charming decorations at the hotel, especially in the common areas. The ambiance created a cozy and comfortable atmosphere that made me feel right at home. As a senior woman, I appreciate the attention to detail in the design, which made it easy for me to navigate and relax. The hotel's accessibility for senior people was also great, with well-maintained paths and ramps that made it easy for me to move around without any issues.
I would suggest having the children working there provide a bit more assistance and guidance specifically tailored for senior guests. While they were friendly and helpful, it would have been even more enjoyable if they had provided suggestions for activities or excursions that are suitable for seniors.

I always stay at this place when in Hien Hao because I have no regrets. The staff helped me with bug spray, which I appreciated. It has everything I need: Wi-Fi, parking, AC, laundry, and more. Coming back this weekend!

The unique style of this home stay was absolutely mind-blowing, taking our island visit to another level. It felt like a little private community, offering a peaceful and quiet retreat. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had the best stay, and we especially loved the beautiful and home-cooked food available for lunch and dinner. The host was super friendly and helpful, making arrangements for motorbike rentals, tours, and bus bookings. The homestay and garden were pretty and offered a good getaway from city life. The comfortable and spacious rooms were a jaw-dropping experience, with STUNNING views of the stars from the bed. Plus, the host's kindness and assistance made everything easy and convenient.

The bungalow had a cozy balcony with a private entrance, making it feel like our own little hideaway. The soundproofing was a bonus, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. As a nature lover, this was the perfect retreat for me.
Personally, I wasn't a fan of the shared bathroom with a shower. But hey, that's just me.

I got great value for my money with a comfortable and clean room at Joystay. The location in a peaceful village was perfect, and the staff treated me like family, especially Chu Minh who went above and beyond to help us during our stay.
The morning meal could have been better with more variety or options.

The bungalows offered a refreshing change from the typical high-rise hotels in the area. the cozy rooms and beautiful, well-maintained gardens created a pleasant atmosphere. the option to rent cheap motorbikes and the convenience of being able to pay by credit card were definite advantages.
The occasional noise from a nearby establishment, which played loud music late into the evening and early in the morning. This disturbance was not unique to the hotel, as it seemed to be a common occurrence throughout Vietnam.

I had such a wonderful stay at this cozy homestay. the host was incredibly kind and hospitable. They even went above and beyond by sending our forgotten passports to us by registered mail. the location, situated in the peaceful farms outside of town, was absolutely perfect. Surrounded by beautiful nature and water buffalo, it was a truly tranquil retreat. the wooden cabins were adorable, and the rooms were clean and comfortable with premium bedding.
Joystay was the best homestay experience on Cat Ba. Cons: There was nothing I didn't like 😊.

I had a wonderful stay at this cute and clean bungalow in Cat Ba Island. The shower had amazing water pressure and the grounds were tidy and pleasant. The host was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Although the location was a bit further from town, I enjoyed the peacefulness. Just remember to bring mosquito repellent for the mosquitoes that got through the bungalow holes. The breakfast options could be improved, but the banana pancakes were delicious. I would definitely recommend this place.

Charming cabins with attentive owners. Helpful in arranging transfers and motorbike rental. Quiet location with great AC. Clean and well-equipped bathroom. Comfortable bed.
Hot water ran out quickly. Motorbike rental was not safe, with brake, speedometer, and gas gauge issues.
